HP 2133 Mini Note Laptop

HP MINI NOTE 2133

The HP Mini laptop, or the HP Mini Note 2133, uses the VIA 7 Processor, backed up with up to 2 GB or RAM. Hewlett Packard has tried to set the bar with its new mini laptop offering. The lightweight HP netbook does not use Solid State Hard Drives, but rather offers end users, the option of choosing a 5400 rpm, 120GB Hard Drive, or a 7200rpm Hard Drive. The faster is the speed typically found on higher end laptops or desktops.

HP gave laptop buyers excellent options for thier HP Mini configuration. Many of the customer reviews on the HP Mini Note, were positive, and praised the small footprint. Some customers have opted to use a Solid State Hard Drive to reduce the noise typically generated by the spinning platters of the typical Hard Drive offering. HP Mini Note buyers may also choose from three basic choices of Operating Systems. If Suse Linux is not your flavor, mini laptop buyers can choose from several flavors of Windows Vista or Windows XP.

The HP Mini Note that we got our hands on, was loaded with the Windows XP downgrade from Windows Vista Business. This could easily be restored from the handy restore partition included. The overall performance was satisfactory. The HP mini started gracefully in under a minute, courtesy the VIA processor.

The sturdy constuction of the HP Mini Note was obvious when you hold it in your hands. The aluminum case adds more strength than is typically available from the mini laptop set. The HP Mini Note 2133 is a very good netbook for students, or mobile bloggers.

Keep in mind that the mini laptop was not built for power, rather for longer use, and greater mobility. The integrated Wireless picked up the Laptopmax Access Point, which is located one story above the testing platform. The integrated webcam had great resolution and usability.

Overall the HP Mini Note makes a great ultra portable, lightweight, small size, and affordable pricing. The folks at HP, are offering the bare bones basic HP Mini for $499.
