The IBM ThinkPad has been in the workplace for several years. T40 laptops have long been known for their quality construction, and durability. This is one reason why used ibm t40 notebooks still saturate the used laptop market today. IBM ThinkPad laptops are especially favored within the the corporate world, primarily because they could handle any of the tasks that mobile business users would or could throw at them.
While the IBM ThinkPad T40 is no longer in production, it is very much in circulation. The ability for used IBM laptops to maintain a resale value, is a testament to the quality and durability of the IBM ThinkPad laptops. The IBM T40 is still in use today by consumers and small businesses.
The T40 laptop was introduced around the time Intel introduced the Pentium M processors. The IBM ThinkPad T40 we took a look at had a 1300 MHz Pentium M processor, running Windows XP Pro. The T40 could still handle many of the tasks that we threw at it. The T40 would barely jump while we put it to the test. As a corporate laptop, or business laptop, the IBM T40 will perform well under normal circumstances. With only a 512MB RAM, there are some limitations. If you can still find memory to upgrade it, as B says, upgrade ya!
