Toshiba Laptops
Toshiba Laptops are divided into five different families of laptop models. Toshiba Satellite, Toshiba Satellite Pro, Toshiba Tecra, Toshiba Portege, and Toshiba Qosimo. Each family represents a different laptop segment.
Toshiba Satellite
The Satellite is the line of toshiba laptops for general use, and makes an excellent consumer laptop. The price range starts at just under $600 with the L300. The base Satellite L300 laptop comes with Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor T3200, 2GB of memory, a 160GB Hard Drive, DVDRW (Multi Layer), Atheros Wireless, and the Intell Graphics Media Accelerator.
For just under $600, buyers can get Toshiba quality. Toshiba touts the Satellite L300 as a great desktop replacement. For that price, we would consider the satellite a great deal, however, we would suggest a more powerful machine for a fully qualified desktop replacement laptop.
The new Satellite, is the Satellite E105-S1402. Starting at a base price of 1199.99, this powerhouse from Toshiba will meet the needs of the most demanding laptop buyer. The base price is a great deal for Toshiba laptops. The Intel Core2 Duo Processor P8400 provides the power, and is supported handily by 4GB of 800MHz DDR2 SDRAM. The real eye catcher for this reviewer, was the inclusion of a DVD-SuperMulti (+/-R double layer) with Labelflash drive. Labelflash is new technology that burns images onto the face of a DVD, using the internal laser. There are many excellent new features on the new Toshiba laptops. Toshiba Tecra
The Tecra laptops are considered the best business laptops. Driven by the Intel Centrino 2 with vPro, Tecra owners benefit from the improved Wireless performance, and extended battery life. The Portege is Toshiba-s lightweight entry for the business set. Touted as the lightest laptop available, the Portege stands apart from the rest.
