The HP 2133 we review, came with the new VIA C7-M Processor, and 2 GB or RAM, running Windows XP Pro. The VIA Processor could hold its own during boot up, opening applications, and multitasking online and offline. The Via C7 was optimized to run cooler, with less power consumption, and is designed to run smoothly with Windows Vista flavors.
When shopping for a netbook, most customers consider laptop battery life, and processing power. The Via C7 can definitely provide enough processing power for average use. Internet, and Office tasks are a breeze on the HP Mini Note. The optimized pairing of the Via C7 and the VIA Chrome 9 Graphics Controller, HP has managed to maximize the amount of battery life users can expect from the mini note. HP shines through on the graphics delivery. Share clean crisp images, max resolution of 1280 x 768 allows users to view a complete web page on the glossy 8.9 inch LCD.
HP Mini Note secures and delivers data from a 120 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive, or Drives if you have the budget to upgrade to dual hard drives. The configuration options for the mini note hard drive will defintely appeal to the corporate professional. HP offers customers the ability to upgrade to dual hard drives that may be upgraded again to provide dual 7200 rpm Hard Drives. This means desktop hard drive speeds in a mini laptop.

If you only need to update your blog, or surf the web, opting for a license-free Linux based Operating system is a suitable option. The Windows faithful, and the corporate set tied to Windows will have several flavors of Windows Operating Systems to choose from.
The Wireless options installed in the mini note we reviewed, were more than adequate. The HP Mini Note had no problems connecting to an access point in the same building, on another floor, and was able to detect several other wireless networks in the area. The 8.9 inch size was great for portability, and surprisingly accomodating with this reviewers fat fingers. The keyboard was more than adequate. The HP Mini Note did deliver over 2 solid hours on a single battery charge. Upgrade the battery to an extended 6-cell, and you can almost double the amount of time between battery charges. The absence of an optical drive seems negligible when you consider the wealth of other specs and features. Invest in a large USB Key, and your issues should be resolved.
